I haven’t thought of Diarmid Heidenreich in years; neither have you. According to imdb, the last things he did were McLeod’s Daughters and Water Rats so no wonder really. Despite a ton of digging, I can’t seem to find any of the Dougie Pizza Hut ads… probably because he disgraced the good name of Dougie the Pizza Boy.

You’ll just have to make do with this. The sheer convergence of ’90s Australia adolescence in this one clip is staggering. Gee, sorry.

You’re welcome

From news.com.au:

“A PUPPY survived having a BBQ fork stuck in its brain for three days before a vet was able to pull the prongs out. Smokey, a 12-week-old chihuahua, was playing at a family gathering in the US state of Kentucky when an oversized fork snapped in half on a grill and sent the pointy end flying through the air before it embedded in the puppy’s head. The distressed pup ran off into woodland with the fork still sticking out before owner Hughie Wagers could react. It wasn’t until two days later that Mr Wagers found Smokey wimpering in the undergrowth and rushed the pup to Cumberland Valley Animal Hospital, in London, Kentucky.”

Fresh off Variety.com: (as in, twelve minutes fresh)

“In a high-six-figure deal, 20th Century Fox has acquired “Avon Man,” a comedy pitch from “Hitch” writer Kevin Bisch, as a star vehicle for Hugh Jackman, with Bisch to script. Jackman and Seed Prods. partner John Palermo will produce, along with Gary Foster at Krasnoff Foster Entertainment. Story follows men laid off from an auto dealership. One is reluctantly recruited into becoming an Avon salesman, and while the experience is initially emasculating, he uses his charm and good looks to become a top seller. The comedy takes on a “Full Monty” vibe when the car salesman sets out to save his financially strapped family and town by conscripting his buddies into the makeup business to win a regional contest.”

There you have it. Crossover appeal for Wolvie and Tonys fans. Jackman was one of the best interviews I ever had and could sell ice to eskimos (sorry, INUITS)

From wiki:

“The Cove is a 2009 documentary film documenting the annual killing of more than 2,500 dolphins in a cove at Taiji, Wakayama in Japan. The film was directed by former National Geographic photographer Louis Psihoyos, and was filmed secretly during 2007 using underwater microphones and high-definition cameras disguised as rocks. It won the U.S. Audience Award at the 25th annual Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, United States in January 2009. It was selected as one of 16 finalists from 879 submissions in the category.”

What wiki doesn’t mention, for some insane reason, is that this is the doco featuring Isabel Lucas and Heroes’ Hayden Panettiere tearful protest confrontation with dolphin hunters that ended up in the news. This looks like the absolute business… So glad I found this.

I’d like to make some joke about Claire using her blood to bring dolphins back to life but, let’s face it, that’d be giving the Heroes writers way, WAY too much credit.

Proposing at Disneyland is hardly unique, I’d imagine, but this guy right here steps his game up and delivers one of the ballsiest proposals I’ve ever seen. Just imagine if she’d said no…

Hey dude? Awesome job and all, but you just automatically raised the difficulty bar to impress a woman by 2 across the board for all guys. Thanks so much

So, I’m back. Miss me? The one-two punch of visiting family in the country plus getting sick laid me up for a few. Soft, I know.

Anyways, let’s get straight back to it. This clip is so twisted, I can’t make head nor tail of it. Still, I find it amusing that my lack of understanding of the World Financial Crisis means that their discussions about it are the parts I find the most confusing.

The best part is, after some digging, I came across a version that has the movie plus a behind-the-scenes. It’s worth sticking around just to see these two rip it up on green screen. Hilarious.

Dave’s not here, man. Flynn, maybe, but no Dave.
